01 - Brand Foundation

Mission & Positioning

StandWithAfrica is a global humanitarian nonprofit organization - recognized 501(c)(3), incorporated with the Alabama Secretary of State (RES270137) - delivering direct support to vulnerable communities across Africa: essential supplies to orphanages and hospitals, support for widows and families, food and emergency relief, and community-led programs in health, education, and infrastructure.

“Stand with Africa. Stand for dignity. Stand for hope.” Core mission statement

Messaging pillars

01

Compassion in Action

Tangible, on-the-ground support - not abstract charity. Every gift and every visit is described as a concrete act.

02

Hope in Motion

Momentum and progress - a future being actively built with communities, not delivered to them.

03

Empower Communities

Communities as active partners and leaders in their own growth, walked alongside - not spoken for.

Vision

“To see an Africa where every vulnerable child and family is supported, valued, and empowered to thrive in dignity.” Official vision statement

What Guides Us - Our Values

Pure Compassion

Actions driven by genuine empathy for the vulnerable, putting people first in everything we do.

Integrity in Action

Complete transparency in outreach, ensuring every resource is used effectively for its intended purpose.

Dignified Support

Aid delivered in a way that respects the dignity and self-worth of every recipient - not just given, but given well.

Organization name

Brand/display name: StandWithAfrica - one word, camel case, no “Inc.” - used in all public-facing communication, social, and design. The registered legal entity name, StandWithAfrica, Inc., is reserved for legal, tax, and registration documents only. No official abbreviation is published; don't invent one (e.g. “SWA”) without sign-off.

02 - Verbal Identity

Voice & Tone

The site's own copy establishes a consistent register: warm, dignified, and hope-forward, grounded in specific outreach work rather than appeals to pity.

Person-first & dignity-centered

People are shown with agency - never reduced to their hardship or described as “voiceless.”

Direct & active

“We bridge,” “we walk hand-in-hand,” “we deliver” - verbs carry the sentence, not adjectives.

Warm, not saccharine

Sincere emotion stays anchored to a real, specific act of outreach.

Transparent & accountable

Willing to cite real numbers - lives impacted, communities reached - and document outreach visits.

DoLead with a concrete action and who it reaches: “providing basic healthcare to underserved communities.”
Don'tUse pity-based framing, “save/rescue” language, or urgency-driven guilt appeals.

Voice in practice

“Hope is the foundation upon which we build a better tomorrow for every child and every family.”

“Every act of kindness, no matter how small, brings light and dignity to those who need it most.”

The brand also draws on African proverbs as a cultural touchstone - e.g. “He who has health has hope; and he who has hope, has everything.” Use sparingly and always attribute as “African Proverb,” not as an original line.

04 - Visual Identity

Color System

Confirmed brand values. The Indigo→Green→Gold gradient is the signature device across the site.

Primary

Primary Indigo#494EDDHeaders, primary buttons, links, gradient start
Primary Green#14B486Accents, secondary buttons, gradient end

Accent

Accent Gold#E4B951Highlights, CTA emphasis, badges
Accent Bronze#C39849Gold's shadow / hover state

Neutrals

Pale Blue#DEEFFFSection backgrounds, card fills
Off-White#FEFFFFBase background
Pure White#FFFFFFCards, form fields
Deep Navy#1E1B4BDerived text/contrast neutral - not a confirmed brand hex, verify before locking in

Accessibility: white text on Primary Indigo or Primary Green passes standard contrast checks for large headings; for small body text, use Deep Navy on Off-White/Pure White rather than color-on-color combinations. Don't rely on Gold vs. Green alone to distinguish meaning - check with a color-blindness simulator before using them as a status pair (e.g. success/warning).

Body / UI - DM Sans

From supporting orphanages to providing relief for widows and hospital patients, we bridge the gap between global kindness and local needs. Used for paragraph copy, navigation, buttons, and form labels - left-aligned, never justified.

06 - Visual Identity

Imagery

Real photography from outreach visits - never stock “poverty” imagery. Subjects are shown with dignity and agency, in warm, natural light.

DoShow real visits, eye-level portraits, and a mix of wide community shots with close human moments.
Don'tUse staged distress, heavy desaturation, or generic charity stock photography.

07 - Applied Identity

Applications

Social

Lead visuals with the Indigo→Green gradient or a real outreach photo; captions open with a pillar (Compassion in Action / Hope in Motion).

Reports & documents

Off-white or pale-blue base, Outfit headings, DM Sans body, gold used only for emphasis figures or callouts.
